Hi, I'm Dr. Phyllis J. Beck

Beck is an interdisciplinary creative, former engineering professor and AI Research Engineer with a Ph.D in Computer Science and Bachelor's of Fine Arts. She is driven by creative curiosity and a desire to live and think more deeply and intentionally. She aims for deep mastery of skill, intentionally curated consumption, and developing a stronger appreciation for the everyday by living, learning and thinking more deeply.

The goal with Paradox of Mind is to cultivate a women led community of intellectuals, thinkers, visionaries and creatives that can build a new positive vision for the future of humanity through exploration of difficult topics such as the ethics and safety of AI usage, the environmental impact of technology, and the sociological implications of algorithmic bias and accountability. Can we consider a new paradigm for human value in a post work economy? What does a human-centered technologically powered future where resources are equitably distributed look like?

These are the kinds of question we engage with. If this is a conversation that you would like to be part of we would love to have join the Paradox of Mind Community.
